The Contenders for my Celebration of Love…

It’s a brand new shiny year and I’m excited. But perhaps not for the reason you might imagine. I haven’t joined a new gym, I haven’t got a new job, I’m not convinced 2014 is going to be MY year as so many of my facebook friends seem to be convinced of. And I didn’t get a puppy for Christmas.
It’s better than that.

It’s going to be Valentine’s Day soon and I am going to have a boyfriend for it.

It’s going to be Valentine’s Day soon and I AM GOING TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND FOR IT!

Sorry. It’s been so long since this has happened I’m being a little weird about it.

Assuming I can hang on to Henry for another six weeks then on February 14 I will be away with this lovely man somewhere so lovely that I might actually forget about the horrific singles party I attended last year. And all the terrible Bridget Jonesy Valentine’s Days before that.

Misibis Bay Resort

If money wasn’t an issue…

Misibis Bay in Albay, Philippines

I’m hoping Henry and I will eat a lot while we’re away and so I want to stay somewhere with beautiful food with a view to match. It’ll distract Henry from looking at me too much while I’m cramming the treats at Spice Market into my mouth. And with his attention elsewhere thanks to the enchanting acoustic guitar at dela Playa I should be able to eat about twice as much food as he thinks I’ve eaten.

 PSV 2

If I had all the time in the world…

Petit St Vincent on Petit St Vincent Island, St Vincent & The Grenadines

The Caribbean is romantic. A private island in the Caribbean with just 22 cottages is romance on steroids. Henry does look at his mobile more than I’d like so the lack of internet, television and phones is particularly appealing. I’m always seeing couples having dinner together in body but not in mind . I don’t want him distracted from the miles of beaches and tropical beauty… and me!

 La Pavillion de la reine

A lot closer to home…

Le Pavillon de la Reine & Spa in Paris, France

As regular readers will know I think Paris is wonderful (unless I’m underground). Is there a city more synonymous with lovers? Just like millions before me who have travelled here I’ll be searching for the perfect “I love you.” Valentine’s Day, tick. Paris, tick. Henry, tick. And finally, trust me on this, Le Pavillon de la Reine & Spa – tick. Chaps, if you want a guaranteed yes to the most important of questions this hotel’s flower-filled courtyard is where you should ask.

These are my contenders for my celebration of love. I hope you find your perfect spot.

  1. Port Macquarie is a beautiful place in NSW Australia. It’s one of the biggest coastal town with the nicest weather in NSW. Personally I believe it would be a good destination to go when you’ve got a chance to visit Australia.

  2. Definitely Paris!

Any thoughts?
