Golf holidays!

Hi Paul,

I know you always dream of bouncing around on the ocean waves… but me?  I like to have my feet on terra firma… preferably traversing lush green fairways on a scenic golf course. So, dearest Paul, I’m now chasing you for some fab ideas for a short golf break – got any? I know Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ often has tempting golf break offers in a wonderful collection of boutique hotels with great golf courses.

A golf course beside the sea would be good (just LOVE ocean views from the tee); maybe an exciting desert golf course (although ‘target’ golf can be SO destructive); possibly a championship golf course surrounded by vineyards (right up my street!), or a scenic mountain golf course. Where do you reckon I should go? To a country club or château in France, an historic golf course in the United Kingdom, a manicured championship golf course in the USA, a mountainous course in Austria or Switzerland, or an exotic golf course on a tropical island?

There’s no doubt that watching the last USA Masters Tournament on television has given me itchy golf feet. It always does. I just want to get out on the golf course and hit the fairways, just like the professionals (I can dream!). Of course, I could tie in my short golf break with a PGA golf event somewhere I suppose… I do like to watch the ‘Big Guns’ at play. There’s the Players Championship and the US Open in America, plus the British Open in Kent and the Irish Open in Co. Kerry in July, plus a bag load of other golf Open Tournaments on the PGA of America Tour and the PGA European Tour during 2011. Oh dear, I’m now back to square One!

So PLEASE Paul, point me and my golf clubs in the right direction. Let me know of some really interesting golf courses to play – you know me… I do like a challenge!
