My time at Kristiania Lech

Dear Paul,

Wow… did we have a fabulous luxury skiing break in Gstaad! The Grand Hotel Bellevue certainly lived up to your recommendations. Now we are putting your second recommendation to the test and staying a few days at Kristiania Lech in Lech am Arlberg, Austria.  The restaurant at the hotel is excellent as is the wine list, so I am in my gourmet element here. The hotel is more like a large, elegant designer home – very arty… very nice!

We’ve only been in Lech am Arlberg two days and already David and I have been cross-country skiing with Gertrud and her two dogs Arthur and Bruno (that was fun!), taken a horse-drawn sleigh ride to Zug for afternoon tea and cakes, been pampered with a Kristiania therapeutic massage (bliss!) followed by an oil bath and glass of champagne, and ordered some custom-made ski boots for David – boots measured and made in just two days (all organised through the hotel). What service. SLH is offering a ‘If the Boot Fits’ Kristiania Lech special offer to Club Members at the moment too.

What a fantastic downhill and cross-country skiing region in Austria this is! Kristiania Lech is only five minutes’ walk from the ski lifts too.

Tomorrow David (mad as he is) has booked one of the hotel’s experiences – the ‘Time to Fly’ package… he’s only going tandem paragliding in the Arlberg region. They say it’s an unforgettable experience. I’ll watch this time.

Must fly myself now! Bye.

Melissa
