What a week for Britain! Good to hear you managed to catch the Opening Ceremony out in New York – I was addicted and followed Team GB’s progress these past two weeks. I’ve never felt so proud to be British! Favourite moments so far, aside from the amazing opening and closing ceremonies, include the brilliant Jess Ennis winning Gold and the BBC commentators’ reactions to Mo Farah’s victory in the 10,000 metres – riveting stuff. How exciting to have all eyes on London – I know our London properties are hosting spectators from around the world and everyone has been impressed by London’s Games, locals and visitors alike. I’ve got some Paralympic tickets as well, so looking forward to revisiting the park in the next few weeks.
Thinking ahead, I’m going to put the 2016 Rio Olympics in my calendar! Brazil is somewhere high on our radar here at SLH – we already have two great hotels there (Haras Larissa in the Sao Paolo countryside and Hotel Toriba in Campos do Jordão) and I’d like to see many more. Any tips and suggestions on the best places to stay in Brazil, Melissa and readers?
