It couldn’t have been better timing – following my search for Super Spas, Conde Nast Traveller magazine held their annual Spa Awards recently, at the impressive Corinthia off Whitehall. Such a stylish event – we supped Champagne and grazed on delicious oysters and Peking duck. Spa food never tasted so good! As the awards for the very best Spas around the world began, I panicked – there are so many amazing Spas I still haven’t tried, and so little time to visit them all! But I took a deep breath, and concentrated on my yogic breathing.
I was excited to see some of my fave SLH hotels praised – Vinotherapie Spa at Les Sources de Caudalie in Bordeaux was voted 4th in the Overseas Spa Retreats category, and 30th in the World’s Top 30 Spas – a huge achievement!
Congratulations to the lovely team there. It’s high time I hot-footed it back there for a “Premier Cru” facial and a glass or two of their finest vintage.
Congrats also to C.Side at Cowley Manor, voted 6th best UK Hotel Spa, and to Spa Village Tanjong Jara, which came 7th in the Asia & the Subcontinent Hotel Spas category, and sister property Spa Village Pangkor Laut, Pangkor Laut Resort which came 4th.
You were right with your recommendation over Christmas Paul!
Flicking through the Spa Special in the taxi on my way home I was delighted to see Brilliant Resort and Spa Kunming in China mentioned in Jo Foley’s article on the new generation of Spa in the Far East.
If I stay there for long enough will I look like the lady in
the accompanying photograph? Never has perching on a rock in a bikini looked so effortless. Pick up a copy to see what I’m aiming for with my 2012 spa regime!
